I think you should write what makes you happy if you have the freedom to do so. You've shown you *can* fill the news gap, and you could always do so again should the need arise, but if arts and culture feeds your soul then relish the chance to focus on them!

I very much enjoy your newsletters just as they are, and find the news roundup really helpful. But... as a general life rule, if something is starting to grind you down, then maybe it's time for an adjustment...

Do what you love. Retired American living in Viet Nam 8 years, Bangkok 2 years, and now on 3 year 'sabbatical' in the US for my Viet wife's enjoyment. Cambodia has this magnetic mystery to me, so I enjoy reading of the culture, daily life going-ons, and that you inject your personal stories too. Someday we'll be spending more time there. Amazed in 2023 how Phnom Penh had modernized since 2015 (maybe not an improvement to _you_ but I'm a Bangkok lover!).

Repression of the press is same in Viet Nam, and I hadn't realized how important that freedom is. Vietnamese live in a kind of powerless fear of authority. The press (mainstream and social) is the watchdog of the government in America, the citizens of little corrupt authoritarian countries deserve it too.

I worry when you cover topics that may be unsafe to you -- better avoided!

1) I do find the news roundup useful because honestly I'm not sure I can keep up with another newsletter and I actually like that it's not as frequent- we get so much news so quickly now that things that seemed like a huge deal on Monday are forgotten by Friday. A slower pace allows some time for reflection and to focus on the biggest, most important stories. Of course it's up to you, I know it's a lot of pressure to feel like you have to report things as they happen! I won't be upset either way.

2) I've always loved the arts and culture part, so more of that is always welcome, especially if it makes you happier! (And I totally agree, I accidentally listened to Treyvisai III first and was like WOW all bangers! I and II were a little disappointing after that!)
